Testing and Evaluation

  Test & Evaluation (T&E) is one of GST's core competencies and most diversified technical areas. GST supports all aspects of testing; from Master Test Plans through developmental, operational, and certification testing of new systems; to verification and validation of work done by other contractors. We have supported T&E for all security equipment deployed by the FAA, including Explosives Trace Detection equipment, threat image projection, bottle screening systems, metal detector portals, and Advanced Technology equipment.


  Since 1987, GST has been performing system and subsystem level testing of each new generation of FAA Air Traffic Control Automation and all the new communications systems and tower displays as well. Systems GST has been associated with include: Standard Terminal Automation Replacement (STARS),  the Advanced Automation System, Voice Switching Communication System (VSCS), Automated Radar Terminal System, Digital Bright Radar Indicator Tower Equipment (D-BRITE), Microwave Landing System, Global Positioning System (WAAS), Long Range, Terminal and Surface Radar, and Automated Visual Guidance/Taxiway System.

  A prime contractor to Homeland Security's Transportation Security R&D Lab, GST has engineers, chemists, and technicians involved in the on-going development, V&V, and deployment testing of systems for trace and bulk detection of explosives, positive passenger-bag matching systems, and information technology security.

  We are also at the leading edge in development and manufacture of simulated explosives for testing of security systems and training of operators.
